Summit on Substance Use & Mental Health

The Faith-Based Subcommittee of the Dare County Saving Lives Task Force is hosting a Substance Use Resources Summit for the faith community on March 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event will be held at St. Andrews by the Sea, located at 4212 S. Virginia Dare Trail in Nags Head.

The summit will feature leaders from 12 local agencies that play a vital role in addressing substance use disorders in the community. These leaders will speak during four 20–minute panel discussions and provide vital information during the event about who they are and what they do.

Agencies on hand will include Trillium Health Resources, Integrated Family Services’ Mobile Crisis Team and Outer Banks Dare Challenge, just to name a few. The event will conclude with table and group discussions that focus on two key questions – “How do we get this information out into our community?” and “What are the barriers to getting this information out to the community?”

The faith community is strongly encouraged to attend this important event, however it is open to all. Space is limited, so please register early to secure your spot. A light breakfast will be served at the summit.
